Cockburn Harbour

Cockburn Harbour is home to most of the island's residents. With Caribbean-inspired homes on narrow streets lined with old stone walls, the village harkens back to a simpler time and lifestyle. Almost every morning, watch as South Caicos fishermen leave the harbor, returning with loads of lobster, conch and other enticing delicacies from the nearby fertile fishing grounds. Or, stroll along the oceanfront promenade and witness one of the frequent community celebrations taking place on the hallowed Queen's Parade Grounds, where Queen Elizabeth II landed in 1966.

The charming and authentic Caribbean atmosphere of a village imbued with hundreds of years of rich history and culture is a rare find in a resort destination.
